Why did we build this?

Zumbrota has an awesome community of engaged residents, businesses and organizations. We feel there has been a missing centralized hub that the Zumbrota Town Talk group has tried to fill, but between the meta organization prioritizing profits/ads to the exhausting banter that takes place, this community deserves better. We have started working on building a website/mobile app for Zumbrota called MyZTown. The idea behind this is a collaborative hub for any organization/business/individual to have a space to contribute to the community and the surrounding area. We would love to be able to have one central spot where anyone can see all the restaurants of their community. Easy to find information like hours, their specials or a spot to find a local hair salon, a local plumber or an event calendar.

 

We are in a pre launch phase, but we wanted to open the site up for a place to learn more about the candidates on the ballot this November.  It’s important to have a non-partisan platform where we can learn who is running and why they are running, that’s more than just reading the political signs around town. We have done our best to contact all the candidates, and asked them to write their own pages. As a collaborative site, it’s not about us individually and what we believe, it’s about coming together and having a strong community.
